Tools...
Dont know why I have not bought one of these before, a Japanese pull saw. super sharp (just ask my knuckles) Very thin kerf and cuts effortlessly.
My old Ryobi ROS is on its last leg so i needed a new one. This one was on sale at Menards for $60. 5", Variable speed and came with the case. Thanks mom and dad for the B-day present.
This little guy..... Didn't expect much for a $8 plane, but after about 5 minutes with a shapening stone......it is constantly used.... I bet it gets used a TON during this project.
Clamps..... All I can say is you cannot have enough. If you think you have enough, go buy 20 more. I dont really care for the steel spring clamps from Home Depot, the plastic covering is cheap and slips off very easily. I got the black plastic ones from Harbor Freight for .99 each. I like those a lot better.
My low angle block plane and a scarf joint jig I made. All my full length boards have to be scarfed together since I only bought 10 ft boards. That was a mistake!! I should have bought at least 2 boards that were 20 ft long. Would have made things easier.
